AttoChron

Attochron, LLC (Playa del Rey, CA & Forked River, NJ) is working with The University of New Mexico, The Georgia Institute of Technology, Sprint Labs (Overland Park, KS, USA) and others to develop the first All-Weather Lasercomm™ system for point-to-point wireless links capable of scaling from 10Gbps to 100Gbps and beyond. First markets include mobile (cellular phone) network backhaul duties where aggregation points near the core (BSC-to-MSC) are facing exponential data demands and requiring just-in-time optical networks. AWL™ Demonstrations are expected in Fall 2009 or sooner at Sprint Labs in Reston, VA, USA.

Attochron is developing a growing suite of patented and patent-pending technologies including All-Weather Lasercomm™ (AWL™), highly-sensitive free space optical (FSO)- and fiber-optic detection systems for classical and ultrafast optical systems (DTech™) for Remote Bio-Chemical Sensing applications and power delivery. Attochron’s rights for these and other related applications are exclusive. Some of these are licensed from EPRI (Palo Alto, CA, USA), UNM, GTRC and other well-known optical sciences research centers and scientists.
